  • How does Nothing headphone (1) handle incoming calls when connected to two phones?

    1. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and neither device is in a call state:
The headphones will output the ringing sound from the device that's receiving a call.
    2. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and one of the devices is already in a call:
The headphones will play the incoming call alert and the headphones's button will prioritise controlling the device that's receiving a call. If the headphones hang up the current call, the audio channel will switch to the other device that's receiving a call.

Note: please refer to the product instructions on the official Nothing official website or get in touch with our Customer Support.

  • When Nothing headphone (1) is connected to two phones, which device's audio will be played?

    1. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and both mobile devices are in an idle state:
    a) The headphones will output the sound corresponding to that phone if there is an incoming call or notification on either device.
    b) If one device starts playing music first, the headphones will output the sound of the corresponding phone.

    2. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and only one device is in the music-playing state:
    a) Incoming or outgoing calls on the device that is not playing music will mute the current music on the headphones (without pausing) and switch to the sound of the incoming or outgoing device. After the call is ended, it will switch back to the connected device playing music.
    b) If the device not playing music starts playing music, there will be no sound channel switching. Both devices will remain in the playing state and the device that started playing music later will be in a muted state.

  • Which device is controlled by gesture controls on Nothing headphone (1) when connected to two phones?

The gesture controls will affect the device currently outputting audio through the headphones. If there is no audio playing, the controls will operate the last connected device or the device that most recently played audio through the headphones.

  • How does the dual connection logic work on Nothing headphone (1)?

Automatic reconnection on power on / exit from sleep mode:

    1. When dual connection is enabled, and the headphones power on without USB-C Audio cable or 3.5mm Aux-In cable plugged in, if the number of connected devices is fewer than two, the headphones will attempt to reconnect to the last two connected devices. If dual connection is enabled for the first time and there are no previous reconnection records, the headphones will maintain a single-device connection. (In single connection mode, the headphones will not automatically enter pairing mode; pairing a new device requires the user to manually long-press the Bluetooth pairing button.) If reconnecting to other devices fails, the headphones will stay connected to a single device and will not enter pairing mode.
    2. If the headphones and connected devices go out of range and then come back within range, the headphones will only reconnect to the device that was disconnected due to distance.
    3. Reconnection will not be triggered if the headphones are in a call or music state.
    4. If the headphones are in the reconnection process but a call or music scenario occurs, the headphones will pause reconnection for 5 seconds. If the call or music ends within the reconnection timeout, the headphones will resume the paused reconnection until the timeout expires. After the reconnection timeout, connection can only be initiated from the device side.

    Connection snatch:
When the headphones are in dual connection mode, connection snatch follows these principles:
    1. If neither of the two connected phones is in a music state, the headphones will disconnect from the phone connected first and connect to the device initiating the snatch.
    2. When the headphones enter pairing mode and are already connected to two devices, they will disconnect from one device to become discoverable and connectable.
    3. If the headphones are connected to two devices and a third device with a connection record attempts to snatch the connection, the headphones will disconnect one device and connect to the third device.

    Tips:
    Music state:
    1. If one of the two connected phones is playing music, the headphones will disconnect the phone that is not playing music and connect to the device initiating the snatch.
    2. If both phones are playing music, the headphones will disconnect the phone whose music is not outputting through the headphones (i.e., the muted music device) and connect to the device initiating the snatch.

    Call state:
If any of the two phones is in a call, connection snatch is not allowed.
