How-to

  • How to start Snapshot?

Audio Snapshot and Call Recording share the same gesture. While audio is playing on your device, simply press both earbuds once at the same time to start recording.

Audio Snapshot will automatically stop when the duration you have set is reached, so there is no need to end it manually. No notification tone will be played, ensuring your listening experience remains uninterrupted.

  • How to wake up the voice assistant using Earbuds

The default gesture controls of this product cannot activate the voice assistant. You can enter the Nothing X App, select the left ear or right ear in the control settings, and set the tap/long press or double tap and hold gesture to activate the voice assistant. Once the settings are completed, you can activate the voice assistant through the corresponding gesture.

For more information about operational functions, you can download the Nothing X App, which is available for search and download in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

  • How to trigger control gestures on Earbuds

Please make sure you accurately touch the sensing area. The touch-sensitive zones are located on both lower sides of the ear stem or the circular mark on the upper part of the ear stem. You may refer to the user manual included in the package for exact positions.

Note: The touch sensor is highly sensitive. Avoid touching the sensor area accidentally in advance to prevent false triggers and misoperation recognition.

  • How to handle Call Recording or Snapshot when the earbuds are connected to two mobile phones?

Audio will be recorded from the active connected phone that the earbuds are currently outputting sound from after you initiate recording.

  • How to handle incoming calls when a Earbuds is connected to two mobile phones?

    1. After the Earbuds have established connections with two mobile phones and neither of the phones is in a call state:
    1) When either mobile phone receives an incoming call, the Earbuds will play the sound of the phone that is receiving the call.

    2. After the Earbuds have established connections with two mobile phones and exactly one of the phones is already in a call state:
    1) When the non-calling mobile phone receives an incoming call: the incoming call ringtone of the local mobile phone can be heard through the Earbuds, and the Earbuds buttons will prioritize controlling the phone that is receiving the incoming call; if the current call is ended, the Earbuds will switch the audio channel to the phone that is receiving the incoming call.

  • If a Earbuds is connected to two mobile phones, whose sound will the Earbuds output?

    1. After the Earbuds has established connections with two devices and both mobile devices are in an idle state:
    1) The Earbuds will output the sound of the mobile device that receives an incoming call or makes an outgoing call.
    2) The Earbuds will output the sound of the mobile device that starts playing music first.

    2. After the Earbuds has established connections with two devices and exactly one of the mobile devices is in a music-playing state:
    1) When the non-music-playing device receives an incoming call or makes an outgoing call
The Earbuds will mute the currently playing music (without pausing it) and then switch to the sound of the device with the incoming or outgoing call. After the call is ended, it will switch back to the connection of the music-playing device and resume playing music.
    2) When the non-music-playing device starts playing music
No sound channel switching will occur. Both devices will be in a playing state, and the device that starts playing music later will be in a muted state.

  • If a pair of Earbuds is connected to two mobile phones, which device will be controlled by the gesture control function?

If the Earbuds are currently outputting sound from a certain mobile device, pressing the control buttons will control that device; if the Earbuds are in a non-playing state, the control buttons will control the last connected device or the last device that played sound through the Earbuds.

  • What is the connection logic for the dual-connection function of the Earbuds?

    1. Reconnection after lid opening:
    1) When the Earbuds are turned on with the dual-connection feature enabled, if the number of connected devices is less than two, the Earbuds will attempt to reconnect to the last two devices they were connected to. If the dual-connection feature is enabled for the first time and there are no previous reconnection records, the Earbuds will remain connected to a single device (when in single-connection mode, the Earbuds will not automatically enter pairing mode; pairing with a new device must be initiated manually by the user via a long press of the button). If the Earbuds fail to reconnect to other devices, they will stay in single-connection mode and will not enter pairing mode.
    2) If the Earbuds and a terminal device are disconnected due to being out of connection range, when they come back within the connection range again, the Earbuds will only reconnect to the mobile phone that was disconnected due to the range issue.
    3) The Earbuds will not trigger reconnection when they are in a call or playing music.
    4) If the Earbuds are in the reconnection state and enter a call or music playback scenario, they will pause the reconnection within 5 seconds. If the call or music playback ends within the reconnection timeout period, the Earbuds will resume the paused reconnection until the timeout expires. After the reconnection timeout, the connection to the Earbuds can only be initiated from the device side.

    2. Preemptive connection:
The Earbuds in dual-connection mode can be preemptively connected to another device, following the principles below:
    1) When neither of the two connected mobile phones is in music playback state, the Earbuds will disconnect from the one that was connected first and connect to the device initiating the preemptive connection.
    2) When the Earbuds enter the pairing mode for a new device while already connected to two devices, they will disconnect from one of the two connected devices upon entering the pairing mode, allowing themselves to be detected and connected to the new device after the disconnection.
    3) When the Earbuds are already connected to two devices and a third device with a previous connection record initiates a preemptive connection, the Earbuds will disconnect from one of the two currently connected devices, enabling the third device to establish the preemptive connection after the disconnection.

    Tips:
    Music playback state:
    1) If one of the

  • How to reset the Earbuds

Place both earbuds in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the pairing button for 10 seconds until the three indicators flash white rapidly in sequence. The bottom indicator will then briefly turn red. Once the red light goes out, the earbuds will automatically enter pairing mode, indicating that the factory reset has been completed successfully.

Note: If your earbuds support recording, a factory reset will delete all unsynced recordings saved on the earbuds. Uninstalling or reinstalling the Nothing X App will also erase all recordings in the app. Please back up important recordings first before performing a factory reset, uninstalling or reinstalling the app to avoid data loss.

  • How to adjust the volume of the Earbuds

  • How to use the LDAC function of the Earbuds?

LDAC high-definition audio can be understood as a "highway" between a mobile phone and Earbuds. It supports a 24-bit bit depth, a 96kHz sampling rate, and a streaming transmission rate of 990kbps. The high transmission bit rate prevents high-resolution audio files from being over-compressed, thus preserving more musical details and significantly improving sound quality.
*This high-definition audio will only take effect if the mobile phone supports it and the selected codec has been enabled on the phone.

For Android phones, first check if your phone has LDAC enabled by default. If not, go to [Settings - Developer Options] to see if LDAC is supported. If your phone supports LDAC, enable it first. Then connect your Earbuds to the Nothing X App, tap Device settings in the App, and then turn on High-quality audio to enable the LDAC high-definition audio codec.
*To ensure the smooth playback of LDAC high-definition audio, it is recommended that when using this feature: 1) In the phone's Developer Options, set the LDAC playback quality to the default adaptive mode; 2) If a higher-quality audio bitstream is selected on the phone, it is recommended to turn off the dual-connection feature to ensure that the LDAC high-definition bitstream has sufficient bandwidth for use.
*Since iOS devices only support the AAC Bluetooth high-quality audio codec, they are temporarily unable to support other high-quality audio codecs.
