How do I activate the Voice Assistant on Nothing Headphone (a)?

How does Nothing headphone (a) handle incoming calls when connected to two phones?
1. When neither device is currently in a call or voice meeting (meetings are treated the same as calls),
incoming calls will be played through the headphones from the calling device.
2. If one device is already in a call and the other device receives an incoming call:
You will hear the local call alert, and the headphone controls will prioritise the incoming call. Ending the current call will switch the audio channel to the incoming call.
Note: Dual Connection is an advanced feature. For full usage details, please refer to the product documentation on the official Nothing website or contact Customer Support. -
When Nothing Headphone (a) is connected to two phones, which device's audio will be played?
1. When both connected devices are idle:
1) The headphones will output audio from the device that receives or makes a call.
2) If one device starts playing music first, its audio will be played through the headphones.
2. When only one device is playing music:
1) If the non-playing device receives or makes a call, the current music will be muted (not paused) and call audio will be played. After the call ends, music playback resumes.
2) If the non-playing device starts music playback, there will be no audio switch. Both devices will continue playing, but the later device will remain muted. -
Which device is controlled by gesture controls on Nothing Headphone (a) when connected to two phones?
Gesture controls always apply to the device currently outputting audio through the headphones. If no audio is playing, controls will operate the most recently connected device or the device that last played audio through the headphones.

How does the dual connection logic work on Nothing Headphone (a)?
Automatic reconnection (power on / exiting Sleep Mode)
1) When Dual Connection is enabled: On power-on, if no Type-C audio cable or 3.5 mm AUX cable is connected and fewer than two devices are currently connected, the headphones will attempt to reconnect to the last two previously connected devices. If Dual Connection is enabled for the first time and there is no reconnection history, the headphones will remain connected to a single device. In single-connection mode, the headphones do not automatically enter pairing mode. Pairing a new device requires manually pressing and holding the Bluetooth pairing button. If reconnection to other devices fails, the headphones will stay connected to one device and will not enter pairing mode.
2) If the headphones disconnect due to being out of range, they will only reconnect to the device that was disconnected once they return within range.
3) Reconnection will not be triggered while the headphones are in an active call or music playback state.
4) If reconnection is in progress and a call or music playback starts, reconnection will pause for 5 seconds. If the call or playback ends before the reconnection timeout, reconnection will resume. Once the reconnection timeout expires, reconnection can only be initiated manually from the device.
Connection takeover:
When Dual Connection is enabled, takeover behaviour follows these rules:
1) If neither connected phone is playing music, the headphones will disconnect from the device that connected first and connect to the device initiating the takeover.
2) When the headphones enter pairing mode while already connected to two devices, they will disconnect one device to become discoverable and allow a new connection.
3) If a third previously paired device initiates a connection request, the headphones will disconnect one of the current two devices and connect to the third device.
Tips:
Music playback scenarios:
1) If only one device is playing music, the headphones will disconnect the non-playing device and connect to the takeover device.
2) If both devices are playing music, the headphones will disconnect the device whose audio is muted (not outputting through the headphones) and connect to the takeover device.
Call scenarios:
If either device is in a call, connection takeover is not allowed. -

How do I use LDAC?
LDAC high-definition audio can be thought of as a “high-speed highway” between your phone and headphones. It supports 24-bit / 96 kHz audio and transmission rates of up to 990 kbps, allowing high-resolution audio files to retain more detail with less compression—resulting in noticeably improved sound quality.
Note: LDAC requires both device support and the selected codec to be enabled on your phone.
For Android devices:
1. Check whether your phone supports LDAC. If it is not enabled by default, go to Settings > Developer options to confirm LDAC support.
2. Enable LDAC on your phone.
3. Connect Headphone (a) to the Nothing X app, go to Device settings, and enable High-quality audio to activate LDAC.
Tips for optimal LDAC performance:
1. Set LDAC playback quality to Adaptive (default) in Developer options.
2. If you select a higher audio bitrate, we recommend disabling dual connection to ensure sufficient bandwidth for LDAC streaming.
Note: iOS devices only support the AAC Bluetooth audio codec and do not currently support LDAC or other high-resolution codecs. -
