  • Can Headphone (1) Pro ear cushions be replaced?

Yes. If the ear cushions need to be replaced due to damage or other reasons, please contact our official support team to purchase replacement ear cushions.

  • What is the difference between the Main drivers and Precision driver in Advanced EQ?

The Main drivers consist of the Bass dynamic driver and the Treble xMEMS driver, and are used to adjust the overall sound across bass, midrange and treble. The Precision driver is used to fine-tune finer details and subtle changes in the sound, helping improve clarity, instrument separation and overall detail.

  • What is the Broadcast Audio connection range of Headphone (1) Pro?

Auracast is based on Bluetooth technology and typically offers a connection range of around 10 metres. The actual range may vary depending on the environment. It may extend further in open areas with no obstructions or signal interference, while walls, obstacles or wireless interference may reduce the range to less than 10 metres.

  • Which devices can be connected via Broadcast Audio on the Headphone (1) Pro?

Headphone (1) Pro supports Auracast™, working as both a transmitter and receiver.

    As a transmitter:
Connect Headphone (1) Pro to your phone, computer, TV, or other audio source via Bluetooth to broadcast audio simultaneously to multiple nearby Auracast™-supported audio devices, such as headphones, earbuds, and speakers.
Your phone does not need to support Auracast™ broadcasting. Simply connect it to Headphone (1) Pro via Bluetooth to broadcast via Auracast™, regardless of the phone brand or model.
The receiving device must support Auracast™. Auracast™ support may vary across devices.

    As a receiver:
Receive broadcast audio from Auracast™-supported devices from other brands.

  • What is the function of Broadcast Audio on the Headphone (1) Pro?

Broadcast Audio lets you share audio from your device or listen to audio shared by others nearby using Auracast technology, with no pairing required. It works across compatible devices and supports shared listening experiences.

  • What is Flat EQ on the Headphone (1) Pro?

    Flat EQ
Tuned with Metropolis Studios, Flat EQ removes artificial audio enhancements and colouration.

    How to use
Flat EQ provides audio creators with a clean, neutral sound for reviewing tracks, comparing mixes or making critical listening decisions. For everyday listening, it can also be used when you prefer a sound with less additional processing. Use the Switch on the left earcup to quickly toggle between Flat EQ and your everyday listening settings.

    Reminder
When Flat EQ is enabled, Transparency Mode, Spatial Audio and all EQ settings are disabled.

  • How do I put the Headphone into pairing mode?

While the headphone is powered on, press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button on the inner side of the right headphone for 3 seconds, and wait for the indicator light to blink slowly to enter pairing mode.

  • How do I use the scroll wheel on the headphones to switch between ANC, Transparency and Off modes?

By default, the Roller switches between ANC and Transparency mode for noise control.
To change this, open the Nothing X App > Controls > Roller > Press & hold, then select Transparency, Noise cancellation, and Off.

Note: Transparency mode is not available under Flat EQ. Only Active Noise Cancellation and Off modes can be toggled.

  • How do I activate the Voice Assistant on the headphones?

Press the Button to activate the voice assistant.
You can go to Control in the Nothing X app, select Button, and set the action triggered by a single press or press and hold to voice assistant. After making the change, the corresponding operation will wake up the voice assistant.

**For more functions and operations, please download and use the Nothing X app. It is available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

  • How does the headphones handle incoming calls when connected to two phones?

    1. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and neither device is in a call state:
The headphones will output the ringing sound from the device that's receiving a call.
    2. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and one of the devices is already in a call:
The headphones will play the incoming call alert and the headphones' button will prioritise controlling the device that's receiving a call. If the headphones hang up the current call, the audio channel will switch to the other device that's receiving a call.

Note: please refer to the product instructions on the official Nothing official website or get in touch with our Customer Support.

  • When the headphones are connected to two phones, which device's audio will be played?

    1. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and both mobile devices are in an idle state:
    a) The headphones will output the sound corresponding to that phone if there is an incoming call or notification on either device.
    b) If one device starts playing music first, the headphones will output the sound of the corresponding phone.

    2. When the headphones are connected to two devices, and only one device is in the music-playing state:
    a) Incoming or outgoing calls on the device that is not playing music will mute the current music on the headphones (without pausing) and switch to the sound of the incoming or outgoing device. After the call is ended, it will switch back to the connected device playing music.
    b) If the device not playing music starts playing music, there will be no sound channel switching. Both devices will remain in the playing state and the device that started playing music later will be in a muted state.

  • Which device is controlled by gesture controls on the headphones when connected to two phones?

The gesture controls will affect the device currently outputting audio through the headphones. If there is no audio playing, the controls will operate the last connected device or the device that most recently played audio through the headphones.

  • How does the dual connection logic work on the headphones?

Automatic reconnection on power on / exit from sleep mode:

    1. When dual connection is enabled, and the headphones power on without USB-C Audio cable or 3.5mm Aux-In cable plugged in, if the number of connected devices is fewer than two, the headphones will attempt to reconnect to the last two connected devices. If dual connection is enabled for the first time and there are no previous reconnection records, the headphones will maintain a single-device connection. (In single connection mode, the headphones will not automatically enter pairing mode; pairing a new device requires the user to manually long-press the Bluetooth pairing button.) If reconnecting to other devices fails, the headphones will stay connected to a single device and will not enter pairing mode.
    2. If the headphones and connected devices go out of range and then come back within range, the headphones will only reconnect to the device that was disconnected due to distance.
    3. Reconnection will not be triggered if the headphones are in a call or music state.
    4. If the headphones are in the reconnection process but a call or music scenario occurs, the headphones will pause reconnection for 5 seconds. If the call or music ends within the reconnection timeout, the headphones will resume the paused reconnection until the timeout expires. After the reconnection timeout, connection can only be initiated from the device side.

    Connection snatch:
When the headphones are in dual connection mode, connection snatch follows these principles:
    1. If neither of the two connected phones is in a music state, the headphones will disconnect from the phone connected first and connect to the device initiating the snatch.
    2. When the headphones enter pairing mode and are already connected to two devices, they will disconnect from one device to become discoverable and connectable.
    3. If the headphones are connected to two devices and a third device with a connection record attempts to snatch the connection, the headphones will disconnect one device and connect to the third device.

    Tips:
    Music state:
    1. If one of the two connected phones is playing music, the headphones will disconnect the phone that is not playing music and connect to the device initiating the snatch.
    2. If both phones are playing music, the headphones will disconnect the phone whose music is not outputting through the headphones (i.e., the muted music device) and connect to the device initiating the snatch.

    Call state:
If any of the two phones is in a call, connection snatch is not allowed.

  • How do I reset the headphones?

Press and hold the pairing button on Headphone (1) Pro for 10 seconds. When the red light flashes 3 times followed by a flashing white light, the reset is successful.

  • How do I adjust the volume on the headphones?

After connecting the headphones to your phone, you can adjust the volume directly on your device, or by rolling the Roller to the right (increase) or left (decrease) on the headphones.

**For more operations, please download the Nothing X App mobile application – available on Google Play and the iOS App Store.

  • How do I switch between noise cancellation modes?

  • How do I use LDAC?

LDAC high-definition audio can be understood as a 'highway' between your phone and headphones, supporting 24-bit depth, 96 kHz sampling rate and a 990 kbps streaming rate. The high transmission bitrate ensures that high-resolution audio files are not excessively compressed, retaining more musical details and significantly enhancing sound quality.

Note: this high-definition audio requires phone support and that the selected codec is enabled on the phone.

    For Android phones:
    1. Ensure your phone supports LDAC by checking if it is enabled by default. If not, go to Settings > Developer options to check for LDAC support.
    2. If your phone supports LDAC, enable it in the settings.
    3. Connect the headphones to the Nothing X app. In the app, go to Device settings. Enable High-quality audio to activate LDAC high-definition audio encoding.

    Tips for optimal LDAC performance:
    1. To ensure smooth playback, set LDAC playback quality to default adaptive in the phone's developer options.
    2. If opting for higher-quality audio bitrate, we recommend disabling the dual connection feature to ensure sufficient bandwidth for LDAC high-quality streaming.

Note: iOS devices only support the AAC high-quality audio codec over Bluetooth and currently do not support other high-quality audio codecs like LDAC.
