  • What is the difference between the Standard transcription model and the Pro transcription model?

Both models can convert speech into text, but they process audio in different ways.
Standard transcription runs directly on your device and does not require an internet connection. It allows transcription even when you are offline.
Pro transcription uses cloud-based AI models and requires an internet connection. It can benefit from continuous model improvements, enhanced language support, and advanced transcription capabilities.
The availability and performance of each model may vary depending on your device, language, network conditions, and subscription status.

  • Why does my phone get warm or occasionally crash when using the Nothing X Standard transcription model?

Standard transcription processes speech directly on your device without sending audio to the cloud. This requires significant computing resources, especially when handling longer recordings or multiple tasks at the same time.

As a result, your phone may temporarily become warmer than usual, and in rare cases, system performance may be affected, particularly on devices with limited available memory or when many apps are running in the background.

To achieve the best experience, we recommend keeping your device updated, closing unnecessary background apps, and ensuring sufficient available storage before processing large recordings.

  • Why does the other party hear a voice prompt when call recording starts? Can I turn it off?

In many countries and regions, call recording may be subject to legal requirements regarding consent and notification. To help users comply with applicable laws and ensure that all participants are aware when a recording is taking place, a voice prompt is played when call recording starts.

This voice prompt cannot be disabled.

Before using call recording, please make sure you understand and comply with the laws and regulations in your location. You should inform all participants that the call is being recorded and obtain any consent required by local law.

  • Why do I need to sign in my Nothing X account to access my recordings?

Recordings may contain personal or sensitive information, so a Nothing X account is required to help protect your privacy and ensure that only authorized users can access recording content.

Signing in also enables cloud-based features, allowing your recordings to be securely synced with your account. This means you can access your uploaded recordings when signing in on a new device or after reconnecting your earbuds.

  • Why can't I use the Nothing X App to connect my Earbuds while on a call with my iOS device?

When an iOS device connects to Bluetooth via an app, it uses the BLE protocol. The Earbuds and the app are connected through Bluetooth Low Energy. During a call, the system's processing capacity and communication bandwidth are fully dedicated to the call as a high priority, and the sending and receiving of Bluetooth Low Energy information are suspended. In this case, it is normal that the app cannot be connected on the app side.

  • Why can't I connect CMF Headphone Pro to the app during a call on iOS devices?

This is to be expected. When connected to an iOS device, the Bluetooth connection through the app uses the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) protocol. During a call, the system prioritises the call and allocates most of its processing power and communication bandwidth to it. As a result, BLE communication is temporarily suspended, and the app can't connect to the headphones at that time.

  • Why can't I use the Nothing X app to connect to Ear (3) while on a call with an iOS device?

This is to be expected. When connected to an iOS device, the Bluetooth connection through the app uses the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) protocol. The earbuds and the app establish a connection via low-power Bluetooth. During a call, the system prioritises processing power and communication bandwidth for the call as priority. Therefore, the communication over low-power Bluetooth is halted.

  • Why can’t I use the AI assistant on Nothing headphone (1)?
Nothing products aim to bring fun and smart technology experiences. The headphones’ support for ChatGPT requires the following conditions: 1. This feature only works with Nothing phones running the latest system version. 2. You need to update and use the latest Nothing X app from the Google Play Store. 3. You must download, install, and log into the ChatGPT app from Google Play Store, and use the ChatGPT Voice function at least once. 4. In the Nothing X app, go to Controls, then set ChatGPT as the action for Single Press or Press & Hold gestures and apply the setting. Please check if all these conditions are met. If the issue persists, contact Nothing Support for further assistance.
  • Why can't my headphones pair with the Nothing X app on iPhone after a factory reset?
Due to platform-related behavior on iOS, this issue can sometimes occur. Please try the following steps to resolve it: 1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone and go to the Bluetooth menu. 2. If the headphone device appears in the list of previously connected devices, tap the “i” icon next to it, then select “Forget This Device.” 3. Reopen the Nothing X app and follow the pairing process again.

During a phone call, the system prioritises the call and allocates most of its processing power and communication bandwidth to it. • Why does the Nothing X App frequently disconnect from the Watch?

Some Android phones may automatically clean background apps during the night or regular use due to memory management mechanisms, which can vary by manufacturer. This can cause the watch to disconnect from the app. To prevent this, we recommend manually adding the Nothing X app to the Android background cleaning whitelist. For some models, long-press the app icon > **App Info** > **Battery** > **Unrestricted**. Consult your phone manufacturer for specific instructions.

    We suggest the following steps:

    1. **Check Background Running Permissions**:
    - In the Nothing X app, go to **My** > **Background Running Permissions** and ensure that background running permissions are enabled.

    2. **Adjust Phone Settings**:
    - In your phone's system settings, allow high background power consumption for the Nothing X app.
    - In the application and permission management section, allow the Nothing X app to auto-start.
    - For Android users, access the multi-task management interface (swipe up from the bottom of the screen or press the button), and lock the Nothing X app in the interface by selecting the top option.

Note: The names or paths of the settings items for different mobile phone models or different versions of the same model may vary. You can view and set them in "My - Background protection". The specific steps shall be subject to the actual content of the device.
